Residents of the First State will finally be able to buy their lottery tickets on the go. Wawa stores throughout Delaware are outfitting their shops with self-service lotto kiosks.
The kiosks will give customers an alternative to typical over-the-counter ticket purchases. Vernon Kirk, the Delaware Lottery director, estimates $6 million in revenue earnings. Total contributions from the machines have netted a total of $120 million.
By the end of this summer, all Wawa stores should have their own self-service kiosks.
Delaware spends proceeds toward public and higher education, health services, and public safety. An expected increase in state revenue is due with the roll out of 100 new machines in 2018.
